GUWAHATI: Tension erupted in middle Assam’s Sonitpur district after some devotees who were on their way to offer prayers at a local temple were attacked by miscreants. The devotees were attacked at Thelamara when they were travelling to attend a puja at Hargauri temple on the occasion of Bhoomi Pujan of the Ram mandir.
The miscreants also set ablaze a four-wheeler and three motorcycles. Meanwhile, police arrived on the spot to take situation under control.
The incident has triggered tension in the locality.
