Tarun Gogoi’s last message from hospital

GUWAHATI: In his last message to the people of Assam on November 4, former chief minister Tarun Gogoi expressed his determination and willingness to work for the people of Assam. In the audio message, Gogoi sent from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), he termed the love of the people as ‘Mantra’ which inspired him to continue his works.

“I would like to continue my works for the society. It was impossible for me to work for the society without the blessings of the public and god. I hope—the people of Assam will always shower their love on me. The people of Titabor and Jorhat love me. The ‘mantra’ of my political life is the love from different sections of the people of Assam including the youth, students, tea labourers, farmers of the villages, planters-weavers, small traders and all the well-wishers. With this ‘mantra’, I will continue to work in future,” Gogoi said.

The audio message was shared by Tarun Gogoi’s son and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi on social media platforms.

The veteran leader had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 25 and was admitted to the GMCH the next day. He had recovered from COVID-19 after two months.

On November 2, he was re-admitted to the hospital because of post-COVID complications and was on 100 percent ventilation from Saturday after his health condition deteriorated.
