Guwahati: The written examination for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in Assam Police held yesterday (Sunday, April 24) is now under the scanner, with question papers of the examination going viral on social media thereby raising serious questions on the transparency of the entire exercise.
The social media in Assam was literally taken by storm Monday morning after the copies of the question papers went viral despite the fact that mobile phones and other electronic gadgets belonging to both candidates and invigilators were banned inside the examination hall.
Candidates were also required to submit the question papers along with the answer scripts before leaving the examination hall.
Given such strict rules and regulations in place, questions have now been raised as to how the question papers can go viral on social media with many people claiming that the paper was leaked before the written test began.
Around 66,000 candidates appeared in the written test across 154 centres in all the districts of Assam.
Incidentally, the question paper of the written examination for 597 posts of unarmed sub-inspectors in Assam Police was leaked in September 2020, following which the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, canceled the test minutes after it commenced.
