Strike: LPG shortage may hit Assam

PUBLISHED:

Guwahati:  Notwithstanding the challenges of COVID-19 now Assam is likely to face a crisis on the supply of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Cylinders.

All the LPG cylinder plants in the Northeast will be closed for an indefinite period from today.

This indefinite strike is called by the NORTH EAST PACKED TRANSPORTER ASSOCIATION in against a conspiracy to move the IOC’s tender invitation office from Guwahati to Kolkata.

North Guwahati LPG plant, Bangaigaon LPG Plant, Mirza Cooking LPG Plant, Gopanari LPG Plant, Tinsukia LPG Plant, Duliajan LPG Plant, Chekmai LPG Plant, Dimapur LPG Plant, and Tripura LPG Plant will be closed for an indefinite time from today.

The strike is also against the IOC’s decision to reduce the pre-tender profit ratio, thereby depriving the locals and providing opportunity to certain business entities.
