India registered an emphatic win over Windies in the first Test at Rajkot on Saturday. Kuldeep Yadav picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests as India beat West Indies by an innings and 272 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Forced to follow-on after conceding a 468-run lead on Day 3, the West Indies batsmen only managed to score 196 runs in their second innings. The visitors are within touching distance of getting bowled out for the second time in the day after being bundled out for 181 in the first innings before lunch.

Opener Kieran Powell was the only West Indian batsman to make a significant contribution in the second essay, an entertaining 83 off 93 balls with eight boundaries and four sixes.

The eighteen-year-old debutant batsman Prithvi Shaw awarded Man of the Match for his century (134). Hyderabad hosts the second and final test from Friday.
