SP Sanjit Krishna took Rs. 40 lakh for Assam Police SI question paper leak

GUWAHATI: Investigation into the Assam Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam case revealed that former Karimganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Sanjit Krishna took Rs. 40 lakh while opening the question paper box at his official residence. Rubul Ali alias Rubul Hazarika, one of the accused in the case allegedly paid this money to Krishna.

According to reports, two days before the exam, on September 18, a vehicle carrying the question papers at the official residence of the former Karimganj SP. Rubul Ali who was associated with Akshay Communication and another accused Diban Deka took photographs of the question papers when the box was opened there. They reportedly paid Rs. 40 lakh to the Assam Police Service (APS) officer and left for Guwahati.

Based on the leaked question papers, Rubul and Diban conducted a mock test at Thank You Lodge, Ganeshguri and Hotel Bhargav Grand, Betckuchi on September 19. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) summoned APS officer after Rubul Ali confessed of paying Rs. 40 lakh to the top cop. He was questioned by the CID on Monday.

On the other hand, Kumar Sanjit Krishna who was absconding since Wednesday reached Director General of Police (DGP) office at Ulubari in Guwahati on Thursday.
