GUWAHATI: South Point Chess Academy is organizing a Rapid Chess Tournament on January 6 and 7. The ‘South Point School Guwahati Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2021’ will be organized at the school premises at Barsapara, Guwahati.
The tournament has a total prize money of Rs 30,000/- (rupees thirty thousand) and is open to all players of Kamrup(Metropolitan).
The tournament will be of total 7 rounds in a Swiss League format with Rapid Time Control of 25 minutes with 10 seconds increment from move 1 will be played.
The top 10 winners will be awarded cash awards along with trophies and certificates. Also top three players in the age category of Under 7, Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Above 60 (Veteran) and female will be awarded trophies and certificates accordingly.
Fide Arbiter M Arun Singh will be the chief arbiter of the tournament.
All Covid-19 protocols will be maintained during the tournament and no players will be allowed to participate without face masks.
