Singer-turned-filmmaker Zubeen Garg says he fantasies people of Assam singing his superhit song ‘Mayabini’ the day he breathes his last. Zubeen was performing at a cultural night at Jharobari in Kamrup district when he suddenly turned philosophical in the middle of his performance and made the statement.
“It has been a fantasy for me. I want people to sing Mayabini when when I die,” he said.
The singing megastar also said he will donate all that he has earned to the people of Assam after death.
“I don’t want anything. Whatever I have earned in life, I will donate everything to the people of Assam when I die,” Zubeen further said.
He was also critical of Assamese gamosas woven in power looms other Assam, the anger in him clearly evident as he threw a ‘Phulam Gamosa’ presented to him by the organizing committee to the floor of the stage.
“Don’t buy these gamosas. They are woven outside Assam. They are killing the livelihood of many weavers of the State,” he said.
