Guwahati: Bollywood actor Shruti Hassan arrived yesterday on her maiden visit to Assam with boyfriend and artist Shantanu Hazarika.
Well, addressing media persons at the Vivanta hotel in Guwahati, Shurti said that she is awed by Assam’s cultural traditions and even learning Bihu. Shruti even spoke about her interest collaborate with talents from the state.
And Shruti Hassan even enthralled the audiences with a brief performance of Assam’s traditional Bihu dance on stage.
Haasan was accompanied by her boyfriend Santanu Hazarika who is a popular illustrator and doodle artist.
Hassan also said that she is very fond of the Assamese dish ‘Aloo Pitika’ (mashed potatoes) and ‘Bhoot Jolokia’ (Ghost Chilies), which her boyfriend Santanu Hazarika introduced to her while she was unwell in Mumbai.
The South Indian actress also stated her father and veteran South Indian actor Kamal Haasan is very fond of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika.
Shruti Haasan also promised to sing an Assamese song when she visits the state next time and added the people of Assam are very humble and talented.
Speaking about the ancient Kamakhya Temple at Nilachal Hills, the actress also stated that she had heard a lot about the temple, but couldn’t visit the place on her own.
Earlier, talking to the social media, the actress confirmed that she will be arriving in the state on April 9 and will celebrate the festival at Khanapara Ground, Guwahati.
Hassan’s boyfriend Hazarika hails from Guwahati in Assam and is currently based in Mumbai.
Recently, Hazarika made news for his solo work ‘BLCK’, an iconic display of black and white pieces that unsettle and challenge audience perceptions.
