GUWAHATI: In view of rising COVID-19 cases, Bongaigaon deputy commissioner has ordered closure of all shops, commercial establishments and market places in the district on each Sunday.
The order issued on Friday says pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres and veterinary clinics may operate without restrictions.
“Restaurants, Dhabas and other eateries may keep open to facilitate take-away and home delivery service till 6:00 PM after which only home delivery of food will be allowed,” it stated.
Restaurants operating within a hotel or resort can allow only dining of in-house guests of the hotel or resort.
“Cold Storages and warehouses may continue. However, sale counters, showrooms, etc. attached to these warehouses shall not operate,” the notification added further.
