The tragic death of a young woman in Guwahati took a fresh twist after she, in her suicide note, made a string of sensational and shocking disclosures.

The body of 21-year-old Ipshita Das was recovered at her residence at Chilarai Path in Bhangagarh, Guwahati, on Friday morning with family members, including her father and mother, alleging that she took the drastic step due to mental harassment by a person named Chintu Kalita with whom she was in a relationship.

“She was in a relationship with a person named Chintu Kalita since one and a half years. When we came to know about it, we inquired and learnt that the youth was not very good and he was in a relationship with other women as well. We tried to make our daughter understand that Chintu was not of good moral character. But she was brainwashed by him and began hating us. In fact she has written in her suicide note that I will be happy that she has ended her life,” Jyotirani Das, Ipshita’s mother, told News Live on Tuesday.

“It was late on Thursday night that Chintu called my daughter on her mobile. The next morning she ended her life. He might have threatened her. We tried to dissuade her from continuing with her relationship with Chintu. But he made her believe that we were working against her interests. Even the police are not conducting a fair investigation. We want justice,” she further stated.

Chintu Kalita, meanwhile, rejected the allegations and alleged that it was Ipshita’s mother who would always taunt and scold her.

“The allegations that her meother has levelled against me are false. It was her mother who would always scold her. Ipshita’s mother is an alcoholic woman and Ipshita would send me live audio clips of her mother scolding and taunting her,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ipshita, in her suicide note which she had texted to her father, reportedly points to strained relations with her mother.

“Papa I am sorry, I had to do this. I really had no other choice left. I don’t blame anyone for this everything is my fault. And I tried hard to fight against everyone but now I can’t I’m tired of fighting. I am just a loser papa. I know now maa will be happy not only maa her loved ones will be happy too,” Ipshita wrote in her suicide note.

“Sorry papa I can’t tolerate this anymore. You really deserve a better daughter than me, I am the worst daughter in this world… I love you papa and I am sorry I couldn’t be strong enough to fight for myself. I am sorry. I had a lot of things to tell you but I couldn’t and now it’s too late to talk about the things. So just let me go this will be good for everyone. And please let him know about me, let him be present in each and every moment of me. I wanted to live papa, but they won’t let me leave peacefully. So I’m choosing peace for myself,” she added.
