Schools to reopen in Assam from January 1: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that schools in Assam would reopen for regular classes from January 1.

“School-colleges will reopen from January 1. Primary schools will also reopen. We have not planned for further lockdown,” said Sarma while asked about the new variant of COVID-19.

Dr. Sarma stated that COVID-19 situation in the state is under control. The state has been reporting less than 100 cases daily.

“We have not thought about lockdown. There is nothing to worry. We have decided to reopen the educational institutes from January 1,” he added.
