Guwahati: Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Beltola unveiled an extensive library on Saturday. The library has been named after pioneer of Assamese literature – Anandaram Dhekial Phukan. The objective of this library is to usher in a revolution of reading books, say the school authorities.
The ‘Anandaram Dhekial Phukan Granthagar’ was inaugurated by Ranjit Das, Director, Assam Tea Employees Provident Fund Organization. Also present at the ceremony were Sahitya Akademi award winner Bipul Deori and General Secretary of Sishu Siksha Samiti, Kulendra Kumar Bhagawati.
“We hope our students will be greatly benefitted by the library. They can learn about different subjects and increase their knowledge base. Even the teachers and the guardians and people from the neighborhood can make a good use of the library books,” said an official of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Beltola.
