GUWAHATI: An investigating team of Assam Police and CID Assam on Wednesday recovered Rs. 24,88,300 from Jaideep Baruah’s rented residence at Nabagiri path in the Chandmari area of Guwahati. Joideep is very close with Assam Police Sub Inspector recruitment scam mastermind PK Dutta.
Sources said that the recovered money was collected from various candidates who had applied for the Assam Police Sub Inspector Job. The money was paid to get the appointments and Dutta had asked Joideep to hide the money.
It is to be mentioned that Joideep was arrested from Tinsukia a few days ago after PK Dutta’s interrogation. Also, more than Rs. 5 crores have been recovered from various locations, including Barpeta and Bongaigaon districts of Assam.
The incident has created a sensation among the people of Assam as it is slowly turning out to be one of the biggest cash for job scams in the state.
