Tezpur MP Ram Prasad Sharma’s wife has filed a fresh petition in court seeking interim bail for her APS daughter Pallabi, arrested in connection with the APSC cash-for-job scam, so as to facilitate the renal transplant surgery of her husband. The petition filed in the Special Court, Guwahati, states that Pallabi Sharma, arrested along with 18 other ACS, APS and allied service officers on Wednesday (July 18), be granted interim bail since she was scheduled to donate one of her kidneys to her father who will undergo the surgery next Monday (July 30).
“… considering the present health condition of the father of the accused/petitioner, she may be permitted to donate her kidney to him and in order to facilitate it, if necessary, she may be granted interim bail for that purpose,” the petition signed by RP Sharma’s wife Ganga Sharma stated.

The petition moved by her lawyer further states that she will hand herself over to police once the transplantation process gets over.
“The accused/petitioner submits that after the transplantation operation is over, she will report back before this court which may then pass order(s) as may (be) deemed fit and proper,” the petitioned added.
Pallabi Sharma’s bail application, incidentally, was rejected on Wednesday after she was arrested and produced in court. She along with the 18 other arrested accused, were sent to police remand for 11 days.
