Guwahati: A free eye check-up camp was organized by the Rotary and Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit in association with Baksa District BTAD Journalist Association on Sunday at Subankhata School in Baksa district of Assam.
Above 150 people were screened for eye problems in the free eye check-up camp. 49 cataracts and PTerizium cases were detected and free treatment will be provided to the patients including free lenses and spectacles.
“Such initiatives are helpful for people like me who reside in rural areas and do not have access to advanced medical facilities. The organizers of the camp assured me of a free surgery after which I will be able to see properly,” said a patient.
Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit has been conducting regular eye check-up camps in rural areas benefitting the villagers.
