Rohit will be missed by many: PM Modi condoles

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Aaj Tak journalist Rohit Sardana on Friday. Modi said Rohit was full of energy, passionate about India’s progress and a kind hearted soul. He will be missed by many people.

PM Modi took to Twitter and wrote, “Rohit Sardana left us too soon. Full of energy, passionate about India’s progress and a kind hearted soul, Rohit will be missed by many people. His untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti.”

The senior journalist passed away on Friday morning.

On April 24, Sardana had tweeted that he had contracted the coronavirus. Reports said that he passed away after suffering a heart attack.

Even while he suffering from coronavirus, Rohit Sardana sought help for patients on Twitter a day before he died. In his last tweet, the anchor asked his over 4 million followers to help find Remdesivir injections for a Covid patient.

Sardana had joined Aaj Tak in 2017 after he left Zee News. He hosted the debate show “Dangal” on Aaj Tak.

Sardana was a recipient of the 2018 Ganesh Vidyarthi Puraskar Award. He was among the most popular faces of TV news journalism in India.
