Lauding the role played by ABSU in fostering education in the region, the Union Home Minister said that it is only due to ABSU’s efforts that Bodo students are writing examinations in their language till Class 12.

He also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the Northeast free from insurgency, blockades, and bandhs.

“There was a time when Bodoland was associated with insurgency, unrest, and ethnic conflict. Today, the region is recognized for peace and development,” Home Minister Shah remarked.

“When we signed the Bodo Accord, the Congress made fun of us. But it has now guaranteed peace and progress in Bodoland,” Home Minister Shah added.

Home Minister Amit Shah further said that 82 per cent of the accord has been already implemented while it will take another two years to implement the accord in its totality.

Shah also advised Bodo youth to begin training for the 2036 Olympics which India is likely to host.
