Rhea Chakraborty summoned by CBI; reaches DRDO guest house

PUBLISHED:

Mumbai: Actor Rhea Chakraborty has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe. She reached the DRDO guest house at about 10.40 am, where the CBI team is stationed to probe the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

According to the sources, the CBI wants to find the circumstance which led to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Superintendent of Police (SP) Nupur Prasad, who is leading the CBI investigation, is likely to conduct a one-on-one interrogation with Rhea.

The CBI team, which is in the city since the last eight days to investigate the Sushant death case, on Thursday recorded the statement of her brother Showik Chakraborty. The recording of statement lasted for more than eight hours.

The CBI has so far questioned the late actors flatmate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh and domestic help Deepesh Sawant, among others, as part of its probe in the high-profile case.

The Supreme Court last week upheld the transfer of an FIR, lodged by Rajput’s father in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and others for allegedly abetting his son’s suicide and misappropriating his money, to the CBI.

The 34-year-old actor was found hanging on June 14 in his flat in suburban Bandra.
