GUWAHATI, Dec 9: Revenue secretary Sanjay Malhotra was on Monday appointed as the new Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, an official notification from the Centre’s cabinet committee stated.
Malhotra has been appointed for a period of three years, the notification further stated.
Malhotra is a 1990 batch IAS officer belonging to the Rajasthan cadre.
He will replace Shaktikanta Das whose tenure ends tomorrow. Das officiated as RBI governor for 6 years.
