GUWAHATI: Amid second wave of COVID-19, pharmaceutical company Sun Pharma will produce Remdesivir vials at its Palashbari unit in Assam. Health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the unit on Sunday to review the production.
“It is good news for us that this unit of Sun Pharma has started producing Remdesivir vials. They have capacity of producing 80 thousand vials per week and 3,60,000 per month. I have requested them to provide the Remdesivir vials to the Assam Government,” said Dr. Sarma.
He stated that the company would provide 10 thousand vials to the Assam government.
“I hope the crisis will be over in next 10-15 days. Since the Remdesivir vials will be produced at Palashbari, so we will get the adequate number off vials,” he added.
