The Nagaon District and Session’s Court has held Zakir Hussain, the main accused in the shocking rape and murder of a minor at Batadrava in March, guilty but acquitted five other accused while reserving the quantum of punishment for Friday. On the other hand, the two arrested juveniles are being tried by the juvenile justice board.

Police had named all eight arrested accused, including nineteen-year-old Zakir and the two juveniles, in the charge sheet.
The girl was gang raped and set ablaze by Zakir Hussain and the two juveniles when she was alone at her home at Lalung Gaon in Nagaon district on March 23 this year.
