Karimganj BJP leader uses Nat’l Emblem in car, sparks row

PUBLISHED:

A BJP leader in Karimganj is at the centre of a massive row after he used the Asoka Chakra — the national emblem of the country — in his car. Dipak Das, the BJP leader in question, has reportedly been using the national emblem in his vehicle despite restrictions on its use.

As per MHA rules, the national emblem may be displayed on the vehicles of the President, Vice-President, Governors of States and Lt. Governors of Union Territories and few designated officials.

Incidentally, Dipak Das, a member of the Central Advisory committee of the Ministry of Social Justice & Employment, is not entitled to the use of the Ashoka Chakra in his vehicle (registration number AS-11N-7111) with people appealing to the Karimganj district administration and the police to take against him.
