Dikhowmukh Tragedy: Navy divers launch ops but fail to trace car

PUBLISHED:

A 10-member team of Navy divers launched a massive search operation at Dikhow river in Gaurisagar in Assam’s Sivasagar district since early morning but have so far failed to trace either the car or the five occupants, who are presumed dead, after the vehicle veered off the embankment road and plunged into the Dikhow river on Saturday night.

The Navy divers used SONAR and other modern-day technology to try and locate the car besides looking for possible survivors although anyone among the five occupants — Haren Bora, his mother Panou Bora, wife Phunu and daughters Chimpi and Munmi — surviving the accident appears very bleak.
