Ready to exchange North Korean soldiers for Ukrainian PoWs held in Russia: Zelensky

GUWAHATI, Jan 14: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to hand over North Korean soldiers captured by Ukrainian forces to Pyongyang in exchange for Ukrainian PoWs who have been held in Russia, news agency AFP has reported.

The Ukrainian President’s offer came a day after Kiev announced it had captured two wounded North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia in Kursk region.

“Ukraine is ready to hand over Kim Jong Un’s soldiers to him if he can organize their exchange for our warriors who are being held captive in Russia,” Zelensky wrote on ‘X’, previously Twitter.

Zelenski also posted a video of an interrogation of the two North Korean prisoners of war.

The AFP report further stated that neither Moscow nor Pyongyang has acknowledged that North Koreans have been deployed to fight Ukrainian forces.
