Guwahati: Fifties from KL Rahul and Chris Gayle guided Kings XI Punjab to a terrific 8-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 31st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Chasing a 172-target, Mayank Agarwal (45) and KL Rahul stitched a 78-run opening stand. Gayle (53 off 45 balls) scored his first half-century this season while Rahul remained unbeaten on 61.
Chahal(1/35) picked up the only wicket for RCB. Earlier, Some late hitting from Chris Morris (25*) and Isuru Udana (10*) lifted Royal Challengers Bangalore to 171 for 6 against Kings XI Punjab in the Kohli top scored with 48 off 39 balls.
They had win the toss and opted to bat first. For KXIP, Mohammed Shami (2/45) and Murugan Ashwin (2/23) scalped two wickets each.
