Ration allowance of Assam forest guards increased from June

GUWAHATI: Following a decision at a flood preparations review meeting at Kaziranga in the presence of chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam Government issued a notification enhancing the ration allowance paid to Assam Forest Protection personnel from the ranks of followers to inspectors.

The monthly allowance has been increased from Rs 1,200 to 2,000 with effect from June.

Sharing the news, chief minister Sarma tweeted, “Forest guards play a key role in ensuring animal safety. During flood preparations review at Kaziranga, a decision was taken to increase their ration allowance. Happy to share that ration allowance has been raised from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000 per month, at par with police personnel.”
