GUWAHATI: In order to arrest the chain of Coronavirus, rapid antigen tests are being carried out in the Fancy Bazaar area of Guwahati. The shopkeepers of the area have responded to the massive COVID-19 testing campaign initiated by the Assam health department.
“We have been carrying out tests here for last two days. Around 200 tests are being done daily. This is our third day. All have come voluntarily. The shopkeepers have responded well,” said an official.
She also mentioned that the positivity rate in the area is zero.
“The good news is that we have found no positive case. Around 410 tests were done in last two days,” the officer added.
“Everyone has come to test themselves. Traders, employees, landlords all have come forward,” said a trader.
On the other hand, rapid antigen tests are being carried out on the footpaths and government offices of Silpukhuri in the city.
