GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to upgrade Raimona sanctuary in Kokrajhar to a national park.
Attending the World Environment day programme at Gandhi Mandap in Guwahati, chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the decision.
“Govt has decided to upgrade Raimona Sanctuary in BTR to a National Park; work is also underway to give national park status to Dehing Patkai,” Sarma stated in a tweet.
