Purabi milk to cost ₹4 more per litre in Guwahati

Guwahati: Milk prices across the country have seen an increase of ₹ 3-4 over the years. This has impacted the business model of several smaller dairy companies. In a recent development the price of Purabi milk has been hiked once again in the city by ₹ 4 per litre.

The West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL) which owns the Purabi brand said that the price of one litre of Purabi pasteurised milk has been increased by ₹4 from today (Wednesday 20th Nov).

The new price of 500 ml Purabi Standard Milk (Green Packet) will be Rs 27 and 500 ml Purabi Smart Milk (Blue Packet) will be Rs 25.

Purabi has hiked its prices to meet the increase expenses of different retailers in the state.

With the price hike in the milk other dairy products of Purabi brand will also be increased simultaneously. An official of WAMUL said that the revised rates will be applicable in Guwahati.

Purabi dairy, which has been giving its service to the people for a long time, has a variety of products including milk, ghee, curd, butter, cream, paneer and lassi. Daily milk consumption in the city is around 1.4 lakh litre. According to WAMUL, over 40,000 families in the city purchase Purabi milk. (Source: Purabi)
