Many groups and organizations, including members of the AJYCP, along with some employees of Mukesh Hyundai car showroom staged a protest outside the showroom after a senior employee was made to kneel down and hold his ears as punishment.
A photograph that went viral yesterday (June 5) showed an employee of Rishav Himatsingka-owned Mukesh Hyundai made to kneel down and hold his ears as punishment while some other senior employees were seen cutting a cake as part of some celebrations.
The photograph led to angry reactions with many people calling for the arrest of the proprietor. A police complaint was also filed against Rishav Himatsingka at Dispur Police Station.

Protesters, who also blocked the road in front of the car showroom in Ganeshguri today, demanded action against Rishav and to also ensure that rights of the employees are not violated.

Meanwhile, another organization has levelled serious accusations of labour rights violation against the Himatsingkas, accusing them of firing employees without even serving them with a notice.
Officials of Orchid India said the Himatsingkas have had past history of violating labour rights. They also announced to take up yesterday’s issue with rights bodies.
