Guwahati: The popular festival of Karwa Chauth was celebrated on November 4 across the globe with great zeal and enthusiasm. Many celebrity couples were seen celebrating the festival with all the right kind of mood and glamour.
Among all the power couples Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas stole the limelight. Despite being an American-Indian couple, they both have held on to the values and traditions they have grown up and are making it work.
Priyanka celebrated Karwa Chauth in Los Angeles.
Taking to her Twitter the former Miss World shared the pics of the day, where she observed a fast to wish for the well-being of her husband. She also shared a very romantic, cheesy Bollywood even, pose with Nick.
She wrote, “Happy Karwa Chauth to everyone celebrating.❤️ I love you @nickjonas”
Priyanka was seen wearing a red saree, with a noodle strap blouse – looking pretty as ever. She did, however, take a more traditional route while accessorising her look, opting for diamond earrings, her minimal mangalsutra, stacks of gold bangles, and her wedding ring. A big fan of bold lip colours, Chopra completed her festive look with scarlet lips, which perfectly complemented her sindoor and bindi. She also shared a very romantic, cheesy Bollywood even, pose with Nick.
Nick Jonas shared the same pictures on his Instagram account. He captioned the post, “Happy Karva Chauth everyone. Blessed to have my beautiful wife home.”
Priyanka and Nick got married in December 2018. The couple had two ceremonies, a Christian ceremony followed by a Hindu one. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are one of the most-loved couples in Hollywood as well as Bollywood. The two often share adorable pictures and videos with each other on social media.
This was the second time Priyanka observed a Karwa Chauth fast for Nick.
Priyanka and Nick met for the first time in February, 2017, at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, where the 27-year-old singer reportedly got down on his knees, and said to Priyanka, “You are real. Where have you been all my life?”
In May, the same year, much to paparazzi’s delight, they showed up at the Met Gala together, for designer Ralph Lauren.
Interestingly, Nick proposed to Priyanka on her 36th birthday in Crete, Greece.
On August 18, 2018, Priyanka and Nick had a traditional Roka ceremony in Mumbai, which was attended by their respective families.
The two then made their first public appearance as a couple in September, 2018, during the New York Fashion Week.
And, they got married on this day in Jodhpur, according to Hindu as well as Christian rituals.
On the work front, Priyanka and Nick are developing a dance reality show for Amazon. The show will be based on the tradition of Sangeet from Indian weddings. The couple was inspired by their own wedding sangeet to come up with this show. The production of the show, assumably, has been delayed due to the pandemic.
Priyanka will be next seen in the Netflix film, The White Tiger. The Oscar buzz for the actress has already begun. She has also shot for The Matrix 4. She will soon begin shooting for Text For You, where she stars alongside Celine Dion. The actress will also headline Russ Bros global event espionage series, Citadel. She also has Netflix’s We Can Be Heroes, coming up soon.
