President Murmu to embark on 3-day visit of Assam, Meghalaya today

President Droupadi Murmu is gearing up to embark on a 3-day visit to Meghalaya and Assam from January 15 to 17, according to an official statement from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. During the visit, she will kick off the Meghalaya Games at the PA Sangma Stadium in Tura.

Additionally, President Murmu will also speak with members of self-help groups at Baljek Airport, Tura, and virtually lay the foundation stone for the new Integrated Administration Complex in Tura.

On the same day, President Droupadi Murmu will address a gathering in Mawphlang and virtually inaugurate the upgraded Rongjeng Mangsang Adokgre Road and Mairang Ranigodown Azra Road. Furthermore, she will lay the foundation stones for the Shillong Peak Ropeway and accommodations for tourists in the villages of Kongthong, Mawlyngot, and Kudengrim.

A civic reception in her honour, hosted by the Government of Meghalaya, will be attended by President Droupadi at the Raj Bhavan in Shillong. On January 17, she will participate in the golden jubilee celebrations of the Karbi Youth Festival at Taralangso, Diphu, Assam.

On Friday, President Murmu obtained a formal invitation to attend the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya by the delegation representing the Ram Temple Trust.
