GUWAHATI, Jan 12: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in paying homage to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.
“I pay my humble tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary. Swamiji took the great spiritual message of India to the Western world. He infused a new self-confidence among the people of India. Swamiji inspired the youth to unleash their potential, work towards nation-building and serve humanity. His legacy continues to inspire countless people around the world,” President Murmu wrote on ‘X’.
Prime Minster Modi said Swami Vivekananda is an eternal inspiration for youth, who continues to ignite passion and purpose in young minds.
“Paying homage to Swami Vivekananda on his Jayanti. An eternal inspiration for youth, he continues to ignite passion and purpose in young minds. We are committed to fulfilling his vision of a strong and developed India,” Prime Minister Modi posted on ‘X’.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid his tributes to Swami Vivekananda.
“The man who reignited spirituality, upheld the beauty of Sanatan Dharma and inspired a million youths to dedicate themselves to national service; my obeisance to Swami Vivekananda on his jayanti today 🙏🏼,” Dr Sarma wrote on social media.
People from various walks of life, including politicians and spiritual leaders, also paid their tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.
