GUWAHATI: Asom Sahitya Sabha president, Paramananda Rajbongshi informed today that President Kovind will be visiting the 75th biennial Asom Sahitya Sabha session on 3rd February instead of 2nd February. The Asom Sahitya Sabha received information from Rashtrapati Bhavan regarding the President’s schedule, said Rajbongshi.
The 75th biennial session of Asom Sahitya Sabha is a four-day program starting from 1st February to 4th February 2020. It will be held in Sualkuchi, the “Manchester of Assam”.
The reception committee was formed in June 2019 with senior BJP leader and Assam Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the president and Kamal Kumar Baishya, Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup as the working president.
The Asom Sahitya Sabha, one of the biggest literary bodies of the country is a non-government, nonprofit, literary organization. The society was founded in 1917 with a vision to promote the Assamese literature and culture.
