Premier League: Salah brace helps Liverpool beat Bournemouth 2-0, Nottingham Forest score seven past hapless Brighton

GUWAHATI, Feb 2: Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored two goals to help league leaders Liverpool beat in-form Bournemouth 2-0 while Nottingham Forest scores seven against a hapless Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Salah’s brace at The Vitality Stadium took his individual tally of goals this season in the Premier League to 20 while sending Liverpool nine clear at the top.

He also surpassed Chelsea legend Frank Lampard to become the sixth-highest goal-scorer in Premier League history with 178 goals till date.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, produced a scintillating show, humiliating Brighton 7-0. Chris Wood stole the show with a sensational hat-trick and Anthony Elanga dazzled with a hat-trick of assists besides putting one in the back of the Brighton net.

Elsewhere, Wolves edged out of the relegation places after a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa while Newcastle United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Fulham. Everton defeated 4-relegation-threatened Leicester City 4-0 win at home.

Meanwhile, in the biggest match of the week, Manchester City will travel to The Emirates while Brentford will face struggling Tottenham and Manchester United will host Crystal Palace in the final match of the day.
