GUWAHATI: Ahead of the Assam assembly elections, Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi gave last warning to Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi saying that the Congress would file candidates against the two leaders if their parties do not join hands with the grand alliance.

Bordoloi said that the Congress would change its stand if the newly-floated parties do not come together with the grand alliance led by his party.

“We informed them we would not file candidates against them. But we make it clear that they should not misunderstand our goodwill as weakness. They should respect our goodwill,” Bordoloi warned.

On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan said it would not be possible for Akhil and Lurin to claim victories if they do not join hands with the grand alliance.

“They should avoid multi-cornered contest,” Bhuyan said.
