Police crack Guwahati toy car blast case

PUBLISHED:

Guwahati Police have cracked the mysterious blast of a toy car at Manipuri Basti locality of the capital city. Paltan Bazaar Police had taken custody of Binod Boro — the person arrested by Udalguri and Baksa Police in connection with the blast at the Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express near Harisinga railway station in Udalguri — and interrogated him over the toy car blast case during which he reportedly confessed to his involvement in the explosion.

Boro claimed during interrogation that he kept the car after filling it with explosives extracted from fire crackers outside the house of 10-year-old Th Debanishi Devi, a student of Nichols High School in Guwahati, to settle scores with the little girl’s uncle who owed Boro some money.

The minor suffered serious injuries when the car went off while she was playing with it and lost eyesight of her right eye along with two fingers. Debanishi’s mother — Th Bembem Devi — also sustained minor injuries in the explosion.

On the other hand, Boro triggered the explosion at the Kamakhya-Dekargaon Intercity Express near Harisinga railway station in Udalguri district on Dec 1 in which three persons were injured so as to attract the attention of cops to the newly-floated outfit ‘All (Baksa) BFDN Sangodan’.
