In a sensational incident, a constable of Assam Police was killed by suspected illegal Bangladeshi at Dumdumia in Nagaon on Saturday night. The slain police constable has been identified as Anil Das.

Led by DSP Laba Kumar Deka, a team of Assam Police carried a search operation to nab gamblers from the house of one identified as Samser Ali. Police constable Anil Das was fired by miscreants during the search operation and declared brought dead by doctors at Bhogeswar Phukononi Civil Hospital, Nagaon. He was a resident of Tulasimukh Ghariyal in Nagaon.
According to locals, a group of suspected Bangladeshis were holding gambling in Samser Ali’s house from last few days. Meanwhile, police launched investigation into death of police constable and detained one in connection with the incident.
