PM Narendra Modi calls for ‘Janta curfew’ on March 22

NEW DELHI: In his address to the Nation, prime minister Narendra Modi has called for ‘Janta curfew’ across India on March 22 to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

He urged the countrymen to observe’ Janta curfew’ from 7 AM-9 PM on that day.

“No citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of house,” PM Modi said.

“This Janta curfew will help us prepare for coming hardships. You can also call 10 people and make them aware about the Janata curfew.This Janata curfew on March 22 will help us acquaint ourselves with self-isolation,” Modi added.

“On Mar 22 at 5PM, we should thank people like doctors, medical personnel, cleaning staff,” stated prime minister.

He also urged the state governments to take initiatives for Janta curfew.
