Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Assam on January 23 to blow the trumpet of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday confirmed the news.
“On this day, the Prime Minister will take part in a public meeting in Jorhat, Sivsagar or any other district in Upper Assam,” said CM Sonowal.
In this context, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonawale today Dergaon and informed that the final venue of the meeting of the Prime Minister will be decided very soon.
On the other hand, union home minister Amit Shah will also address rallies at Kokrajhar and Nalbari on January 24. Meanwhile, BJP’s national president, JP Nadda, launched party’s poll campaign in the state with “Vijay Sankalp” rally at the police parade ground in Silchar.
