PM Modi dials CM Sarma to take stock of flood situation in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called up Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to enquire about the current flood situation in the state and assured all possible help from the Centre.

In a tweet on his official ‘X’ handle, CM Sarma mentioned that he updated the Prime Minister about the second wave of floods affecting Assam this year, caused by heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Upper Assam districts.

The conversation focused on Assam’s current battle with its second wave of floods this year, primarily caused by heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh and parts of upper Assam.

Assam is severely affected by floods with 2.62 lakh people suffering in 28 districts and 34 people dying due to the deluge and landslides in the state this year.
