GUWAHATI, Oct 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his tradition of celebrating Diwali with the armed forces as he celebrated the festival with Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy and Air Force personnel near the Sir Creek area in Kachchh district of Gujarat.
Prime Minister Modi also offered sweets to the jawans and interacted with them.
PM Modi, wearing a BSF uniform, was seen offering sweets to the personnel on board a patrol vessel.
Prime Minister also addressed the brave jawans.
“Whenever I celebrate my Diwali with you all, my joy increases several times. This time, Diwali is special as Lord Ram has returned to his abode in Ayodhya after 500 years,” Prime Minister Modi was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
“I am proud of our soldiers who have shown their capabilities in every tough situation. While I am here in Kutch today, it is important to discuss about our Navy. The coast here in Gujarat is one of India’s biggest strengths. That’s why the coastlines here have to face the most number of threats from our enemies,” PM Modi added.
