PM Modi arrives in US on 3-day visit, to meet VP Kamala Harris today

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington DC early on Thursday morning for his three-day US visit. PM Modi landed at Joint Base Andrews airbase in Washington DC at 3.30 am (IST) on Thursday.

PM Modi was received by Indians living in the US who welcomed him by waving the Indian flag. PM Modi thanked the Indian diaspora for the warm welcome.

From the airbase, PM Modi’s carcade will go to Hotel Willard on Pennsylvania Avenue.

This is PM Modi’s first visit to the US in two years, which also saw a change of regime in the country. PM Modi will hold the first in-person bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden at the White House on Friday followed by the Quad leaders’ summit.

On Thursday, PM Modi will meet the CEOs of five major companies – Qualcomm, Adobe, First Solar, General Atomics and Blackstone. He will then meet Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison at the Willard Hotel. 

After this, PM Modi will leave for the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to meet US Vice President Kamala Harris. 

The Prime Minister will then address the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Saturday. During his visit in New York, PM Modi will stay at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel in Manhattan.
