GUWAHATI: Former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Prasanta Kumar Dutta, one of the prime accused in Assam Police sub-inspector (SI) recruitment scam is likely to be arrested soon. It has been suspected that Dutta has been absconding in Nepal.
Additional director general of police (ADGP) for law and order GP Singh said that the accused would be arrested wherever he is.
“PK Dutta will be arrested. He will be nabbed wherever he is hiding—Nepal or some other places,” Singh said.
Meanwhile, police on Saturday arrested two associates of the former cop from Dibrugarh.
The investigation team also carried out separate operations in Nalbari and Barpeta.
