GUWAHATI: Assam minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika inspected different COVID-19 screening centres in Guwahati on Monday. The screening centres in all the wards of the city have been set up to ensure better surveillance. Hazarika was accompanied by senior officials of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration.
All the areas under Kamrup (Metropolitan) district has been put under lockdown from Sunday night till July 12 as Guwahati has been witnessing significant increase in COVID-19 positive cases.
On Sunday, 195 COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Guwahati. Among them 120 patients have no travel history.
