Newly-inducted Minister of State (Health) Pijush Hazarika has been continuing with his surprise checks, cracking down on adulterated food and sweets prepared under unhygienic conditions. After raiding shops and godowns storing fruits ripened using chemicals, the MoS Health continued his crackdown at sweets shops and pharmacies in Beltola locality of Guwahati.

Hazarika, accompanied by Food Safety officials, visited several sweets shops as well as pharmacies and asked shop owners to maintain hygiene. He also rapped a few pharmacy owners for not keeping trained pharmacists.
