Petrol pumps shall remain closed for 48 hours from 5 AM on March 30 to 5 AM on April 1.
The comes after North East India Petroleum Dealers’ Association’s (NEIPDA) announcement of 48-hour petrol pump bandh, citing unresolved issues regarding commission enhancement and other demands.
According to the notification, the association held a general meeting in its office at Uzanbazar in Guwahati, wherein it was unanimously decided that the association would resort to a ‘Protest Closure of No Purchase No Sale’ from 5:00 AM on 30/03/2024 to 5:00 AM on 01/04/2024.
This decision comes amidst mounting frustration over the lack of enhancement and revision in dealers’ commissions since 2017, sparking concerns over the sustainability of their trade.
