GUWAHATI: Hitting out at understanding between Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) for Rajya Sabha elections, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a person with no self-respect would like to be a Rajya Sabha MP with AIUDF’s support.
“A person with no self-respect will go to Rajya Sabha with AIUDF’s support. The family of the person till next seventh generation will be defamed if he/she becomes Rajya Sabha MP with the support of AIUDF,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He also claimed that anyone from indigenous communities of Assam who loves the ‘Axomiya Jati’ will not dare to become an MP with AIUDF’s nomination.
“We are not eyeing on the third seat. Why Congress is not fielding its own candidate instead of joining hands with AIUDF? A person with dignity will never accept AIUDF’s nomination,” Dr. Sarma added.
