GUWAHATI: Those who return to Assam from other parts of the country will be needed to undergo quarantine—institutional or home quarantine as a precautionary measure against COVID-19, informed health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday.
Addressing media persons in Guwahati, Dr. Sarma said, “We have started making quarantine centres at Boxirhat and Srirampur. Those people coming from other states will have to go for quarantine—either home or facility quarantine.”
Till now Assam has discharged 17 COVID-19 patients from different hospitals of the state. Among the total 34 COVID-19 cases, one patient from Hailakandi district died on April 10 at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). Currently, there are 16 active cases in the state.
